When I started couponing, I didn’t know about rainchecks.  Of course, I had heard of them, but I had no idea how to use them.

In case you can’t tell, this isn’t me.  In fact, as much as I like to serve my husband, smiling and ironing do not go together in my book.  Perhaps I inherited that from my mother.  In our household growing up, we sprayed with water and smoothed.  Over the years, I’ve found alternative methods that work slightly better.  (more…)


Couponing Websites

Today, I’m going to share with you one of my favorite blogs for saving money – SouthernSavers.com.  When I started couponing, I followed about a dozen different blogs.  I have whittled that down to about 3 (for sanity purposes).  At the top of my list is Southern Savers.  Her website is easy to use, she lists the major stores that I got to (CVS, Rite-aid, and Harris Teeter) and I can quickly make a shopping list with next to no effort.  (more…)

When I was younger, my sister and I switched off weeks for preparing lunches.  As an added incentive, the one preparing lunches got to sit in front on the way to school.  We were easily pleased.  Now that I’m making lunches for my husband, I can’t quite get him excited about sitting in front if he makes his own lunch so I’m stuck serving him in this way.
