Switch to Health (S2H) STEP

You may remember my post on the S2H REPLAY.  If you don’t, read the review on the REPLAY first and then come back.  Much of the way the program works is the same, the only difference is that the STEP keeps track of steps you take and gives you a reward code for every 10,000 steps.  I was really surprised how quickly I could get to 10,000 steps even though I spend some of the day sitting at my computer for work.  I averaged 5,000 steps a day.  On days I ran, I could get 5,000 steps just from my run.  I actually found it fun to see how many steps I took in an average day.  So you can probably expect to get 3 or 4 reward codes a week with the STEP. S2H (Switch 2 Health) Replay and Giveaway

Yes, I bought a S2H Replay.  I found it on Mamapedia (see my post on Social Couponing for more information) for $10 and decided it would be a fun experiment.  Before I bought it, I researched it a bit and no one seemed to have a really good review of the S2H Replay.  I wanted to know how long it took to get rewards, what types of activities triggered the Happy face, was it really worth my time, etc…  So I figured if I bought one, I could share a complete review with you so you could have the 411 on if the Replay was a worthwhile investment for you and do a giveaway in the process (see the bottom of this post for details).  So here we go! Brushing your teeth and lunges

You’re too busy to exercise.  I understand, I really do.  There was a point in my life where I didn’t want to take the time to go walk or lift weights.  That’s when I came up with the 2 minute leg routine while I brushed my teeth.  I have an electric tooth brush that buzzes every 30 seconds until I’ve done my full two minutes of brushing.  This is great to keep my workout on track. Clever Ways to Use a Knitting Counter

The gym I go to has small track.  16 laps = 1 mile.  I don’t know about you, but I lose track after lap 2 and about lap 4, I think, I’ve definitely run a mile by now.  So I decided to use my knitting counter to help me keep track of my laps.  And you know what?  A mile is a lot longer than I thought 🙂 (more…)

Walking and weights

First, you need a stroller & a kid

Next you need a pair of tennis shoes

And finally some hand weights

Last summer, I knew I should be lifting weights to tone and strengthen, but with a little girl around, it was difficult to figure out a good time to squeeze in a workout.  This is when I decided that if I could incorporate my daughter into my workout, I’d be spending time with her and exercising at the same time!  At the time, I was in the habit of walking while pushing my daughter in the stroller, but I didn’t feel I was getting enough exercise.  So that’s when I stepped it up a bit.  Here’s what I started doing and have found it tremendously beneficial.
